ADAM
Who is Adam?
Adam also spelt Aadam is the first Prophet of Islam and mentioned in the Qur`an as the husband of Eve (Hawwa).
Adam in the Qur`an
The similitude of Jesus before God is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be”. And he was.(3:59)
Eve is not mentioned by name in the Qur`an, but she is nevertheless referred to as Adam`s spouse, and Islamic tradition refers to her by an etymologically similar name – Hawwa.
Adam in Hadith
Tabari
The early Islamic commentator Tabari adds a number of details to the Torah, based on claimed hadith as well as specific Jewish traditions (so-called isra`iliyyat). Tabari records that when it came time to create Adam, God sentGabriel (Arabic: Jibril), then Michael (Arabic: Mika`il), to fetch clay from the earth; but the earth complained, saying I take refuge in God from you, if you have come to diminish or deform me, so the angels returned empty-handed. Tabari goes on to state that God responded by sending the Angel of Death, who took clay from all regions, hence providing an explanation for the variety of appearances of the different races of mankind.
IDRIS
Who is Idris?
Idris in Qur`an
Enoch (Arabic: Idris) is mentioned only twice in the Qur`an, in two consecutive verses in Sura Maryam (19:56,19:57). It says that he surely was a truthful man, a prophet, and he was raised high in Heaven.
Idris in British tradition
There is also a British tradition about Idris the prophet who founded Caer-Idris (settlement or City of Idris) somewhere in the British Isles where astronomy was taught. The name Idris is still common in Wales today in remembrance of this famous Druid.
NUH
Who is Nuh?
Nuh is a prophet in the Qur`an. References to Noah, the Arabic form of Noah, are scattered throughout the Qur`an, but no single narrative account of the entire Deluge is given.
We sent Nuh to his people: He said, “O my people! Worship Allah! Ye have no other god but Him. Will ye not fear (Him)?”
The chiefs of the Unbelievers among his people said: “He is no more than a man like yourselves: his wish is to assert his superiority over you: if Allah had wished (to send messengers), He could have sent down angels; never did we hear such a thing (as he says), among our ancestors of old.”
(And some said): “He is only a man possessed: wait (and have patience) with him for a time.”
(Nuh) said: “O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood!”
Nuh Ark
God later instructed Nuh to build the ark:
Build the ship under Our eyes and by Our inspiration, and speak not unto Me on behalf of those who do wrong. Lo! they will be drowned. (Surah Hud: 37) (Surat al-Mumenoon: 23-26)
The Qur`anic account contains a detail not included in the Biblical account: a reference to another son who chose not to enter the ark:
And it sailed with them amid waves like mountains, and Noah cried unto his son – and he was standing aloof – O my son! Come ride with us, and be not with the disbelievers.
He said: I shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water. (Noah) said: This day there is none that saveth from the commandment of Allah save him on whom He hath had mercy. And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned. (Surah Hud: 42-43)

HUD
Who is Hud?
Hud is a prophet of Islam. The eleventh sura of the Qur`an, Hud, is named after him. In the Bible he is known as Eber.
History of Hud
According to Islamic tradition, Hud was born five generations after Nuh ) (although there is no mention of the amount of time lapsed after Noah in the Qur`an), as was Eber but only according to the Septuagint. In that time, his people had completely forgotten about The Flood that had struck generations past and had begun worshipping idols made of stone. Despite Hud`s warnings and admonitions the people persisted in their idolatry (shirk). To punish them, God (Arabic:Allah) sent a drought. Even after the drought, the people would not relent, so they were destroyed in a large storm from which only Hud and a few believers emerged.
The Qur`an states that Hud was sent as a warning to the people of `Ad . The recently discovered city ofUbar, mentioned in the Qur`an as Iram , is believed to have been the capital of `Ad.

SALEH
Who is Saleh?
History of Saleh
According to Islamic tradition, Saleh was born nine generations after Nuh (Noah) and the flood. He lived in an area in between Palestine and the Hijaz, regarded by many to be where the ancient city of Petra is, currently in Jordan, due to descriptions of Saleh`s people living in stone houses carved in mountains. His people worshipped idolsmade from stone. Saleh tried to teach his people not to worship idols and to embrace Tawhid, but they refused. They asked Saleh for a miracle so Allah (God) created a camel. Instead of feeding the camel as Saleh instructed, the people killed it, so God ordered Saleh to leave his people and he complied. This was followed by a massive earthquake which destroyed his former people. This character is certainly associated with the biblical Shelah, although there are discrepancies between the Torah and Septuagint as to what his generation.
